Kevin has always been a storyteller – first as a ad agency builder, creative director and writer shaping compelling brand narratives for companies like Honda, Johnny Walker, Schweppes, Axe and Jim Beam, and more recently as a documentary photographer in search of unique perspectives on the world around him.
Kevin spent the first three decades of his creative career at top-tier agencies including Lowe, BBH, BBDO, Strawberry Frog, Scali McCabe Sloves, and Ammirati and Puris. He worked with a broad spectrum of clients and brands, building innovative creative departments and winning more than his fair share of industry awards, including a number of Cannes Lions, One Show Pencils, Andy Awards and Clios. A brand film he spearheaded for Jim Beam now resides in the permanent film archive of MOMA.
Five years ago, Kevin traded the structure and security of agency life for greater creative freedom and self-expression, by added documentary photography to his storytelling repertoire. His work documenting the Black Lives Matter movement in New York is part of the permanent collection of the New York Historical Society, was included in a group show at the International Center of Photography (ICP), and is featured in “ The America Issue” of ZEKE Magazine, published by Social Documentary Network. His current project has him “commuting” to southern Texas for a book project documenting the working lives of a rural community or Black rodeo cowboys.
He currently splits his time between freelance advertising assignments and photography. And he resides in Greenport, New York, with his family and two senior dogs
